New Scarf

So my wife came in the other day while I was staring at my screen about to start a sketch. She was flaunting a blanket she had wrapped around her neck like a fancy new scarf, and it sparked this drawing below. There's no big reason behind why I landed on a ostrich, other then seeing one of my wife's poses made me think of the ballerinas in "Fantasia".   If you have any questions about my processes please leave me a comment and I'll be happy to share. I will share that I sketched it in "Mischief", and finished it in Photoshop.
Thanks for looking.

It's not just me...

I have been so busy with photo and video work that I don't draw too much but still love to. More then that though I don't ever visit Blogger anymore until just now...7:05pm Jan. 12th 2016. Clicking though the artist's pages I follow and loving all that I see, but I've seen it before. Not all have left blogger on the sidelines and I'm glad to see some of my favorites still post weekly.
I've just started "Gesture Drawing" on Schoolism and am really looking forward to taking one day a week to add to this blog with what I'm working on in the class (or out of class).

This place is amazing and always worth a visit.

Do any of you guys use "Mischief" for drawing of sketching? It's amazing!!

Big Hero

Man, has it really been over a year since my last post. I feel terrible about it. It not like I haven't been busy, but this shouldn't be overlooked for that long again.

So this is the latest kinda quick thing I did for a school showing of Big Hero 6. I do movie posters for all the movie nights at Prescott Elementary and this might have been the favorite of most.
It may just be that Baymax is one of the radest characters ever. ;)

It was my first time seeing the movie, and although it's not my favorite it was an great story and will be owned. ;) (In case you were wondering why he's hugging a panther, it's the schools mascot.)

Hey There!

Man it feels like a long time since I've posted anything. I've been so busy with other projects things pass me by like crazy.
Any who...not really sure what kind of animal this is but liked the little guy so I did a few of him.
It's great to just draw.

Zombie

Do you believe that this is my first zombie drawing?!
Crazy I know but, I never really had a desire to draw one.
FYI, Super fun to do!
I'll be doing more monster types for sure in the future.
This guy was done for a Contest from a YouTube Comic Book show Called "Variant"
If you like comics or anything to do with them, check it out!

SPRING FROG

I know it's a little early for spring here in the NW, but I started a doodle, and this is what came out.
Even if it was spring, it might still be a bit early for frogs. Looking forward to camping this year and meeting a few.

Big Painting part 1

Got a call a couple days ago from a friend who just bought a new place. He asked me if I would be interested in doing a healthy sized painting for his new place. With a big smile on my face I told him "I'd love to!" I'm really excited to start this (just tossing around some ideas). One, It's one of the bigger painting I'm about to tackle, and two, my friend is also one of my favorite skateboarders. Check him out, and look for some sketches for the painting coming soon.

Scribbles # 1

Scribbles from my sketch book. Sometimes more then scribbles, but still from the sketch book. This scribble was done at PDX airport a few months ago. This guy had a crazy resemblance to my Dad. Okay, Minus the glasses, and my day has a full beard. But other then that!! I couldn't stop myself if I wanted to. The drawing had to be done.

Photo additives

I was in Chicago recently and went to the previously called Sears Tower. Great views and photo op. Some of the photos, although great scenic shots missed some content for me. So I thought I would share this modified Picture of Chicago with you. It's not complete, but thought it might inspire some.
